When King Charles III and Queen Camilla chose India for their “private stopover” to break a long journey back from a hectic overseas tour of Australia and Samoa, it said a lot about his wellness outlook and connect with the country’s leading exports of Yoga and Ayurveda.
“Their Majesties had a short private stopover in India to help break the long journey back from Samoa,” a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said in a statement last week.
While there were no further official details released on the location chosen by Britain’s royals, palace sources said the couple had chosen a site well-known to them both and that they have visited several times before. This familiar location is none other than SOUKYA International Holistic Health Centre (SIHHC) at Whitefield in Bengaluru – in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Both the King and Queen are known for their inclination towards holistic health and wellness, having made a number of visits to this centre over the years.
