At the heart of this year's commemoration of Indian Independence Day is the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the nation from the historic Red Fort in Delhi.

A special web portal RashtraGaan. In was created for the festivities, which invites Indians from around the world to get involved with a rendition of the Indian National Anthem.

Everyone is invited to record and upload their videos while singing 'Jana Gana Mana', with a compilation of the uploaded videos to be aired on August 15. There are three easy steps to follow for this, and then a fourth step offers a personal certificate of completion. The total number of users crossed millions within weeks here: RashtraGaan. In

The 74th Independence Day on 15 August 2021 marks the launch of a special year-long celebration for the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence from colonial rule in August 1947. In Britain, it coincides with a celebration of 75 years of India-UK relations.
