Indian PM Modi, German Chancellor agree to deepen ties
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India and Germany have strong ties based on shared democratic values and a deep understanding of each other's interests.
Speaking at a joint press meet along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, PM Modi noted that both nations have a long history of cultural and economic exchange. He stressed that the increasing cooperation between India and Germany is not only beneficial for both nations but also sends a positive message to the world.
"India and Germany have strong ties, based on shared democratic values, and a deep understanding of each other's interests. There is also a long history of cultural and economic exchange between the two countries.
"We have a history of trade exchange. Germany is our biggest trading partner in Europe," " PM Modi said.
PM Modi and Chancellor Scholz also agreed to deepen and widen this cooperation and to work towards a roadmap for innovation and technology with a view to using scientific and technological knowledge for the economic development of both countries as well as to address global challenges. India and Germany share a long history and both countries share the responsibility for global peace, stability, sustainability and prosperity.
