Bollywood star Salman Khan has launched a drive to spread awareness around the need for 'sanitisation", to combat the spread of Covid-19.

The actor took to social media to launch his brand FRSH, the result of a rethink on his original plan to launch deodorants.

"The need of the hour is to start sanitisers," he said.

Khan, 54, used a video to promote the new brand as he urged his massive fan following to be safe.

Khan, the actor behind box-office hits such as the Dabangg? series of films, is prolific on social media and has lately been focussed on raising awareness around the importance of social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.

The actor is staying at his Panvel farmhouse in Mumbai with nephew Nirvaan Khan and other family members ever since India's lockdown was enforced in late March.

As a treat for his fans amid the lockdown, he released his new song titled 'Bhai Bhai' to mark Eid-ul-Fitr over the weekend. The 'Sultan' star put out the song on Twitter and wrote: "Maine aap subb ke liye kuch banaya hai, dekh ke batana kaisa laga? [I have made something special for all of you, let me know how you like it]"

"A special gift for all of you on this auspicious occasion of Eid. Listen to Bhai Bhai? and spread the brotherhood. Eid Mubarak to everyone," he added.
The song celebrates the spirit of brotherhood and unity and has been shot with a minimal crew and resources at Salman's lockdown base at his Mumbai farmhouse.
The nearly four-minute song is intended to communicate a message of harmony and encourages love and compassion between different religions.
This is the third song that Salman has released while in lockdown after 'Pyar Karona' and 'Tere Bina'.
Sung by the actor sporting a beard, the latest song has been attracting millions of hits on social media.
