Versatile Bollywood actor Boman Irani has been attracting praise from different quarters of the film industry ever since he announced his long-awaited directorial debut, 'The Mehta Boys' recently.

Having dedicated considerable time to this passion project, the actor-turned-filmmaker has not only directed but also penned the screenplay alongside Oscar-winning writer Alex Dinelaris. Popular South Indian and pan-India cinema star Prithviraj Sukumaran was among the first to show his support.

He posted on social media: "I had the privilege of reading the script. Deeply evocative! Cannot wait to see Boman Irani’s vision for the same."

To which Irani responded: "Brother, you'll be the first to experience it. Can't wait to share. Touched by your post."

‘The Mehta Boys’ delves into the intricate dynamics of a father-son relationship, unfolding over a tense 48-hour period. With its promising teaser, the film offers a glimpse into Irani's masterful portrayal of characters, capturing their essence with precision. As a seasoned storyteller, Irani has showcased his talent for crafting compelling narratives, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating the release of this project.

The film is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video alongside highly anticipated titles such as 'Citadel Honey Bunny', 'Call Me Bae', 'Matka King', and 'Ashwatthama'.

Actor Shreya Chaudhry also spoke about her experience of working on the project: "As an actor, this is definitely my best year in terms of the work that I'm doing and who people will see me as. It feels amazing to have two tentpole projects on a global streaming platform like Amazon Prime Video! They will show the various ranges I have as an actor."

On working with Boman Irani, she added: "It is not every day that one gets a chance to be directed by a creative mastermind like Boman Irani sir! I got to learn so much under his guidance in The Mehta Boys and I'm honoured that he felt I was good enough to be a part of his vision."

Shreya also expressed her excitement about the second season of popular Amazon series 'Bandish Bandits'.
"I hope people and media give me the same or more love for this season because I think I have left a piece of my heart on the sets of this series. I thank my director Anand Tiwari, my producers Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari for their trust and faith and confidence in me. I want to capitalise on these two projects and hope that my work in them brings me more and more exciting acting offers that challenge me," she added.
The release dates for both projects are yet to be confirmed by Amazon Prime Video.
