As Netflix announced a whole slate of intriguing series for this year, award-winning Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit introduced her own intriguing character from the upcoming series 'Finding Anamika' to fans this week.
The 'Dhak-Dhak' girl of box-office hits like ‘Beta’ and ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ will make her debut in the world of digital streaming platforms with the suspense family drama series 'Finding Anamika'.
The 53-year-old star took to social media to introduce her character of Anamika, who can be seen in a glamorous picture posing effortlessly like a diva for the cameras.
"Beauty, poise, grace and elegance are all words you'd associate with Anamika. But skeletons hidden in her closet all come rushing out when an untoward event takes place. There's always more than meets the eye, isn't there?," reads the caption.
"I'm thrilled to announce I will be part of the Netflix original series ‘Finding Anamika’. Excuse me, while I do a happy dance to celebrate! @netflix_in #AbMenuMeinSabNew #FindingAnamika," she said.
Madhuri Dixit also acknowledged the team behind the project, including the producer of the show Karan Johar, alongside Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under the Dharmatic Entertainment banner.
Besides Madhuri Dixit, the show will star Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Saran, Suhasini Muley and Muskkaan Jaferi, with direction by Karishma Kohli and Bejoy Nambiar.
'Finding Anamika' revolves around the story of a global superstar, wife, and mother who suddenly vanishes without a trace. As the police and loved ones search for clues and answers to her disappearance, Anamika’s perfectly crafted facade is stripped away, revealing hidden truths and painful lies from the life of an iconic actress.
It is just one of many Netflix shows from India slated for release in the coming weeks and months, with Raveena Tandon set to make her digital debut with ‘Aranyak’ and Pooja Bhatt starrer ‘Bombay Begum’ in the pipeline soon too.
