‘Chandu Champion’ is the inspiring and unbelievable tale of an Indian sportsman who faced one adversary after another with an undying spirit and went on to become the county’s first Paralympics gold medallist Murlikant Petkar. Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan has taken on the lead role to depict the real-life hero’s unwavering zeal and never-give-up attitude, which has been documented in the annals of history.
Aaryan's incredible transformation as a soldier, boxer, and wrestler channels his dedication towards this project, jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan. The filmmakers recently dropped the first song, Satyanaas, kickstarting the musical journey of ‘Chandu Champion’. The energetic dance number set the stage for Aaryan and his group of young cadet friends celebrating the dawn of a new chapter in their lives.
"The Satyanaas song was shot over the period of four days and the train was made especially for shooting the song to ensure the theme of the film, which is set in the 1960s, was kept intact and exuded the same vibes," a source from the film’s sets revealed recently.
As ‘Chandu Champion’ gears up for its June 14 release date, the buzz around the film continues to build up including with a second song drop.
A compelling storyline, entertaining performances and electrifying songs have been combined with promotions in full swing by the lead star, who made a special appearance in the grand finale of the popular Indian show ‘Dance Deewane’ with the ever-graceful Madhuri Dixit.
The trailer of the film, launched in Gwalior in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, delves deep into his Chandu’s life – showing the eponymous character at various ages and stages, including dreams of being a village champion, entering the Indian Army, succeeding in athletics, and being shot during the 1965 war.
When bullets are pumped into him, Chandu refuses to give up and fights against the odds. It is a story of a man who refused to surrender and is full of heart-warming moments.

Aaryan has gone through an incredible transformation to get into the shape of his character and his drastic physical change has garnered immense attention on social media. The unveiling of the first look poster, featuring Aaryan sporting a red langot (underwear) and displaying a chiselled physique sent his fans into a frenzy.
The actor's subsequent poster, donning boxing gloves and a fierce demeanour, further intensified the anticipation surrounding the film.
