‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, is arguably one of the most anticipated films this year.

The lead pair are pulling all the stops to promote the film, which sees filmmaker Karan Johar return to the director’s seat after a seven-year hiatus.

The recently released trailer promises a full star cast and a larger-than-life spectacle. The latest teaser from Viacom 18 Studios, Dharma Productions and Saregama is another lilting melody from the original motion picture soundtrack of the film titled Ve Kamleya.

‘Ve Kamleya’ is sung Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Pritam is credited as the composer of the song.

Alia and Ranveer were in Delhi for the song’s launch and talking about the melodious track, Ranveer said: “Karan Johar films always have hit songs. There is something special in Arijit's spirit, and Shreya's voice. We are blessed.”

Viacom18 Studios and Dharma Productions’ ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, is all set to hit the big screen on July 28, with musical tracks from the film being released one by one on Saregama Music.

Another foot-tapper is the song What Jhumka?, which samples 1966 hit ‘Jhumka Gira Re’, composed by Madan Mohan for the film ‘Mera Saaya’.

What Jumka? is also sung by Arijit Singh along with Jonita Gandhi, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and original lyrics by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. Pritam and Madan Mohan are credited as composers of the song.

A special surprise for Ranveer Singh fans, the song sees him returning to his love of rapping. The lead actor raps a special verse, only available in the audio version.

The fact that Sadhana, the lead actress who danced to the original 1960s hit number, is Karan Johar's aunt is not widely known. She thought of Karan's father, Yash Johar, as her Rakhi brother. For himself and his admirers, Karan's rendition of a song with his aunt Sadhana is a joyful experience.

After the much-celebrated music of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’,  Johar has teamed up with Pritam and Arijit Singh once again for his latest. The first number to hit the charts was Tum Kya Mile, which captures the essence of love and the easy chemistry between the lead pair.

Johar said: “Love songs are always challenging, especially when one has a legacy to live up to. Love songs of Dharma Productions have always connected with audiences across the world.

“I remember we kept the recording of the love song of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ at the end because Pritam Dada, Amitabh, and I were so nervous about how the song will be. We always met at our Bandra office because Dada considers it very lucky for him. I remember at one of our sessions, he made us hear just the melody of Tum Kya Mile and it immediately resonated with me.”

Arijit Singh shares: " I am thrilled to be a part of such a beautiful and heartfelt melody. Working with Karan and Dharma Productions once again has been a pleasure. I hope that this rendition connects with the listeners and evokes the same emotions that we felt while bringing this song to life.”

Shreya Ghoshal adds: “The lyrics and music weave together to create a magical atmosphere of love. I hope that it touches the hearts of the audience, just as it touched mine. It’s always humbling to collaborate with such talented artists."
