After a bit of hiatus, popular pan-Indian actor Dulquer Salmaan is back in the Mollywood film industry with a much-anticipated venture ‘King of Kotha’. Talking to the media recently, the versatile actor said that he is both “excited and nervous” about the project, which will hit the big screens on August 24.

Dulquer Salmaan said that ‘King of Kotha’ is a new space for him as he has not previously explored an out and out commercial genre of films. He also said that he is completely confident in the content of the movie, which will give the audience a different kind of theatrical experience.

According to Salmaan, the film comes backed with a profound storyline that has the potential to reach a wide audience. The action entertainer also stars Aishqariya Lekshmi, Shammi Thilakan, Gokul Suresh, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Prasanna, Nyla Usha and many others in pivotal roles.

‘King of Kotha’ is a collaboration between Zee Studios and Wayfarer Films, two powerhouses known for their entertaining content. Directed by Abhilash Joshiy, the film brings to life a world brimming with larger-than-life battles, personal struggles and the unwavering pursuit of power.

The trailer launch for the film recently set the stage for its release next week as none other than Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the official trailer. Alongside SRK, the trailer was also launched by South Indian cinema legends Mohanlal, Suriya and Nagarjuna.

The pan-India film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, besides Malayalam.

Meanwhile, Salmaan is making his digital debut with the upcoming series ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, which also stars RajKummar Rao and Gulshan Devaiah in the lead roles, and is streaming on Netflix now. Set in the early ’90s in the unpredictable and precarious town called Gulaabganj, the series is an ode to Bollywood in the nineties.
