In a fashion coup of sorts, legendary Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has collaborated with bridal publication ‘Khush Wedding’ for its first issue of 2021. One of India’s best-known couture, bridal and celebrity designers with an international profile, Mukherjee has designed an exclusive bridal collection for the latest cover and cover story featuring Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari.
Revealing why Hydari was chosen as the milestone issue’s cover girl, Sonia Ullah, Editor-in-Chief of ‘Khush Wedding’, said: “Aditi perfectly embodies the mood of this issue. She has been a Sabyasachi admirer, often photographed in his stunning designs, and is an advocate of artisanal crafts.
“It was an absolute honour to have the maestro Sabyasachi craft a special range for ‘Khush Wedding’, where each ensemble is a tipping of the hat to Indian hand-craftsmanship techniques.”
As the chosen Sabyasachi bride, Hydari can be seen in each immaculate shot displaying a range of exquisite and bespoke creations by the couturier, including heirloom-worthy lehengas and statement kurta sets, along with decadent jewellery from the Sabyasachi heritage jewellery collection. The fitting grandiose of Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, the former palace of the Nizam of Hyderabad turned into a luxury hotel, serves as the larger-than-life backdrop for the bridal shoot.
‘Khush Wedding’ is pegging its first issue of 2021 as a promise of a beautiful tomorrow, while celebrating the past. Its bridal report is pitched as a all-encompassing guide that covers the gamut of the biggest wedding trends of the new year, with inputs from top bridalwear designers on the silhouette, colour and fabric to bookmark.
The jewellery section aims to guide brides-to-be in a similar direction, so their treasured trinkets last a lifetime. Just like the indigenous crafts, the beauty and skincare recommendations focus on ancient spices, flowers and fruits native to the subcontinent, with modern twists.
