Popular American singer and song writer, P!nk, surprised everyone when she dropped by at Birmingham’s popular Indian restaurant Asha’s.

“It was a great surprise for us. She just called up about half an hour earlier and requested a table and luckily, we did have a table available. It was a pleasure to serve her. I think she really liked our hospitality, service and food,” restaurant manager Jebin Jacob told iGlobal.

The superstar was in the UK for her ongoing Summer Carnival Tour, which will see her travel around the world in the coming months. Her concert in Birmingham’s Park Villa earlier this week was the last of the three UK concerts, but P!nk made sure to check out the famous restaurant known for its food and service before the conclusion of her UK tour.

Jacob said: “She came with her family and friends and some of the crew members as well. She also mentioned Asha’s in her show later and that she had really nice food!”

To commemorate the singer’s visit, the restaurant’s mixologist created a special gin-based cocktail for P!nk to try. They have announced that they will be naming the drink after her and have asked fans for name suggestions on Twitter.

“The new cocktail will be named in her honour. We decided that rather than us naming it, we will ask the public to choose a name which is why we have asked for suggestions from the people,” explains the manager.

Asha’s Birmingham – part of the restaurant chain owned by the celebrated Indian singer Asha Bhosle – has attracted many celebrities and famous personalities over the years. Whether it is actors like Tom Cruise, Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, singers like Ed Shereen or cricketeers like Sunil Gawaskar or Anil Kumble, the award-winning restaurant is a hotspot for celebrities the world over.

Asked about the reason behind such wide-spread appeal, Jacob explained: “I think food and service is what it comes down to. That's the main reason why people always come back to dine here again and why celebrities like the place so much.”
