Arbinder Dugal is BBC's MasterChef Professionals UK's 2019 Semi Finalist. Last year, he was appointed as Head Chef for the British Asian Trust at a royal charity event at Buckingham Palace, London.
As part of his new special series for ‘iGlobal’, he will share some innovative fusion recipes. The first recipe is inspired by his newly vegan wife.
Cooking from the heart is a great ethos that I have always followed in my kitchen. The driving forces of my menus comes from the depth of experience that I have gained from working in fine dining restaurants across the UK and India.
To begin my new series with ‘iGlobal’, I’d like to tap into a huge growing market, one that I have had to adapt much of my home cooking to more recently as my wife has turned vegan.
In 2019, there were 600,000 vegans in the UK. That is almost four times the amount that there were in 2014. It's a huge growing market. But it was only when my wife turned over to the green side that I decided to experiment with the one thing she was craving - ice cream.
Below I've listed out a very simple and easy Banana and Chocolate Ice Cream that can be prepared in just 20 minutes. With no eggs, milk, cream or sugar, this is perfect for vegan and diabetic people.
I hope you enjoy making this for your loved ones. Do take pictures and tag me in them @iglobal_news @arbinderdugal @masterchefuk.
Happy cooking!
