Popular Indian actor Anupam Kher has a simple solution for the restlessness that many of us may be feeling during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown around the world. His advice is to deploy all that extra time at hand in the right direction, learn new things and embrace positivity.

Through a recorded video message on social media, the 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' and 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' actor made a specific reference to India's extended lockdown as it combats the deadly virus and urged the younger generation to use the available time constructively.

Recalling his own experiences, the actor known around the world for Gurinder Chadha's box-office hit Bend It Like Beckham? acknowledged that youth is a period of natural restlessness? which can be countered with positivity.

The lockdown, he believes, is the ideal opportunity to think about what one needs to do in life and which direction one's life can take. The 65-year-old prolific artist suggests using this period to introspect and chart out the next chapter in life.

"This is the time you can really, really think what you need to do in life. Maybe you want to become a singer, actor, IT professional, or anything. God has given, or nature has given you this opportunity to give your life a direction," he said.

He notes: "This is the time to consolidate your position, power, energy, optimism, compassion... make the person today of yourself that you want to be. Become the person that you want to be in these times.

"Call that person: I am the person who became from the lockdown period."
The message came as the actor announced the digital launch of his autobiographical play 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'. The play, one of the veteran actor's well-known productions that has had 450 stage shows over the last 15 years, will go online on June 7.
Directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, the production captures all the possibilities in an individual's life and gives a glimpse into Kher's own failures, triumphs and life lessons.
