Vidhu Sharma

The ‘iGlobal’ launch event DiwaliFest 2020 kicks off on Friday and the line-up put together for this biggest-ever virtual celebration of the Festival of Lights unprecedented.

With a Special Address by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in augurating the celebrations, audiences will be taken through interactive yoga and meditation sessions, mithai cook-offs, incisive deliberations, dance performances, bhajans, musical extravaganzas, magic tricks and much, much more.

And, the first-ever iGlobal Impact Awards will honour high-achievers across different fields in what has been a particularly challenging year.

Here are some soundbites from some of the stars who will be leading sessions at ‘iGlobal’ DiwaliFest 2020:

"We're going to have some lovely but healthy recipes to share with you – including shrikhand, and chilli tofu which tastes the same as paneer but healthier. We’ll also be sharing some useful health and fitness tips for you to apply not just on Diwali but also throughout the year."
Sonali and Shaf from BodyPlot, who will be sharing handy healthy tips

"We will be bringing together young talent from across India and the UK to celebrate devotional music and Bhajans. We're starting at the top, making our way down through Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Karnataka."
Bhavik Haria, who will be leading the Soul to Soul concert

“My 72-year-old mother-in-law has been a great inspiration throughout lockdown. Her arthritis has resolved and knee pain reduced. She will be supporting me by translating the exercises into Gujarati. Be sure to bring your parents and grandparents along for our workout session.”
Lavina Mehta MBE will be leading a Chair Yoga workout on Sunday

“It’s an honour to be nominated for the Arts and Culture award alongside many others whose work we have been following avidly throughout lockdown. It was important for us to support the community during this time with writing workshops and to document our stories – and the reception we received was great”
Tattva Press, Arts and Culture Champion of the Year nominee, iGlobal Impact Awards
