Talented young Indian racer Jaden R. Pariat is all geared up for the opening rounds of the 2023 ROKiT F4 British Championship, set to take place at Donington Park in Leicestershire this weekend.

The 16-year-old from Shillong in Northeast India recently moved over to the UK to focus on his racing career and joined the country’s leading single-seater team Phinsys by Argenti for his first full F4 British Championship season this year.

After unofficial test sessions on April 20, Pariat will head out to the track for race one on Saturday April 22, following by the second race and final on Sunday April 23.

In a statement ahead of the F4 races, Pariat said: "I'm excited to start racing as we've prepared a lot over the winter, and it's going to be a lot of fun. Of course, we want to have a strong start to the weekend and the season, but our aim will be to progress over the whole year and keep on improving as a driver.

“If we focus on that, hopefully, the wins and podiums will come. We have a long season ahead, so I'm going to try to be as consistent as possible. It will all come with race experience. I only have two weekends from last season under my belt, so there's still lots to learn."

British F4 is a very competitive championship with strong teams and drivers, with a proven track record for producing top level drivers – a few of whom are now in F1. The ROKiT F4 British Championship, certified by FIA – the governing body of motor sport, is the first step for aspiring young drivers making the transition from karting into single seaters.

Michael Meadows, Team Principal at Phinsys by Argenti, said earlier this year: “Having tested Jaden last year, we were impressed with his performance but also his ability to learn and take on information. As a Rookie this is a hugely important factor as they make the transition to F4.

“The team are very much looking forward to working with Jaden, helping him develop as a driver and achieving strong results in the British F4 Championship.”

Pariat's karting experience includes the Meco FMSCI X30 National Championship, in which he became the first Indian rookie to score a podium on their debut. He finished as runner-up in the series in only his second season.

Last year saw Pariat testing in the Tatuus T-421, which resulted in him competing in the last two race weekends of the 2022 ROKiT British F4 Championship. His best result from the six races was a credible seventh place and second in the Rookies at Silverstone Round 26.

"After driving in the ROKiT British F4 championship for the last two rounds of the 2022 season, it only made sense for us to come back. The amount I learnt on and off track during those two rounds of the championship was really incredible. Looking at the level of teams and drivers on the grid and the technicality of the circuits in the calendar makes for one of the best driver development and experience-gaining championships in the world," he reminisced about gaining silverware at his first international race at the age of 15.
