Did you know that your body is always naturally detoxifying, to remove toxins and waste products from your body?
The human body does this through different organs:
Liver: filters toxins
Kidneys: urine
Lungs: exercise
Skin: sweat
Gut: bowel movements
Lymph: movement
Although this is a naturally ongoing process, there are several things that you can do to support your body’s detox pathways.
These are categorised into two main types of support:
Daily/weekly routines
Occasional cleanse programs

Drink 2 to 2.5 litres of water daily.
Increase your intake of nutrient rich foods including fruits and cruciferous vegetables.
Increase fibre in your diet.
Include foods with prebiotics and probiotics.
Decrease sugar and processed foods.
Reduce alcohol intake.
Movement, through either walking or exercise.
Breathing exercises & Yoga.
Get good quality sleep.
Reduce technology time, taking a break from your phone, laptop, etc.
Try to make small changes gradually so that you get used to sustaining them. I would suggest picking three changes to start and then building on that.
And the second way to support your body is by doing a Cleanse Program every three to four months. This then gives your body a break from heavy, hard to digest foods and increases your intake of nutritious foods. In my cleanse program, we also look at other aspects like lifestyle e.g. sleep, stress and mental wellbeing. After this short program, my clients see a reduction in inflammation, have better skin and bowel movements, feel happier and sleep better.

This is the perfect program if you feel like you have been eating more unhealthily than usual or if you would like a ‘reset’.
If you are new to this and making long term changes seems a little daunting, start with the cleanse program as you will be guided but still realise how feasible making changes can be.
