iGlobal Desk

Kuwait will resume commercial flights with India and Egypt, among other countries, while adhering to the COVID-19 measures set by a ministerial committee, a Cabinet statement said this week.

The decision also includes resuming flights with Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Passengers will need to apply for online entry permits before travelling and present a negative PCR test taken 48 hours prior to departure.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) airline Etihad Airways has updated its travel rules and has decided to issue visas on arrival for passengers from 70 countries, it says in a statement on their website The Gulf state had suspended commercial flights from India since April 24 on the advice of health authorities amid a covid surge.

In recent weeks, countries including the US, UK, Switzerland, Austria, Russia and Germany have eased Covid-related travel restrictions on India, leading to many airlines increasing the number of flights on offer.
