Kerala man stabbed to death in south London attack

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of an Indian-origin person in Southwark, London have charged a man with murder.

Aravind Sasikumar died after being found with stab injuries outside a residential property in Southampton Way on Friday, June 16. His family have been informed and continue to by supported by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command.

On Saturday, 17 June, Salman Salim, 25, of Southampton Way, was charged with murder. He appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on the same day and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, June 20.

Police were called at 01:27hrs on Friday, June 16 after a man was found with stab injuries outside a residential address in Southampton Way. Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Aravind, aged 38, died at the scene.

The family of the deceased appeals to repatriate Aravind to his homeland.

"Aravind Sasikumar, a loveable son came to UK with high ambition in his career and the welfare of his family, but suddenly departed from this world in an unfortunate incident leaving his dear ones in a very difficult time in their life span. Now his family need our support to repatriate Aravind to his homeland. Union of UK Malayalee Associations (UUKMA) along with UUKMA Charity Foundation urge all of you out there with kind hearts to help generously to support this bereaving family during the most traumatic period in their lifetime," the appeal reads.
