It's indeed a proud moment for India as musician Ricky Kej won his second Grammy Award this year.
He bagged the trophy along with Stewart Copeland for 'Divine Tides' in the Best New Age Album category at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards on April 3.
Sharing the news on Twitter, Ricky wrote, "Won the Grammy Award today for our album Divine Tides. Filled with gratitude and love, this living-legend standing with me - @copelandmusic. My 2nd Grammy and Stewart's 6th. Thank you to everyone who ever collaborated, hired, or listened to my music. I exist because of you."
Bengaluru-based Ricky won his first Grammy in 2015 for his album 'Winds of Samsara' in the Best New Age Album category.
After winning an Oscar, Indian American producer Joseph Patel's 'Summer of Soul' has now bagged a Grammy in the Best Music Film category.
The film, which revolves around the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, won the coveted award over 'Bo Burnham: Inside', 'American Utopia', 'Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles', and 'Music, Money, Madness... Jimi Hendrix in Maui'.
Indian-American singer Falguni Shah, who uses the stage name "Falu", has won the Best Children's Music Album Grammy for 'A Colourful World'.
Sharing the update, Falguni took to Instagram and wrote, "I have no words to describe today's magic. What an honor to perform for the opening number of the GRAMMY Premier Ceremony, and then take home a statue on behalf of all the incredible people who worked on A Colorful World. We are humbled and thank the Recording Academy for this tremendous recognition. THANK YOU."
Falguni released a self-titled solo album in 2007, blending elements of folk from across south-east Asia with Western music. She has even performed and collaborated with music maestro AR Rahman.
She is the only Indian-origin woman to be nominated in the Best Children's Music Album category at the Grammys twice.
