Three holy “Swaroop” of Sri Guru Granth Sahib have been airlifted from Kabul to the Delhi airport and received by Indian ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, V. Muraleedharan and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader R.P. Singh.

Puri, in a tweet, said: "Blessed to receive & pay obeisance to three holy Swaroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji from Kabul to Delhi a short while ago."

The President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, was also present to receive the Sikh holy texts, which had been said to be on their way as part of India’s ongoing evacuation mission from Afghanistan.
Earlier, Sirsa had informed in a tweet that an Air India flight with 78 people, including 53 Sikhs and Hindus who are Afghan nationals and the three holy texts would arrive in Delhi from Dushanbe.

The latest evacuees were airlifted to Dushanbe from Kabul in an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft.
The three Sri Guru Granth Sahib will be taken in a procession to Guru Arjan Dev Ji Gurdwara in the New Mahavir Nagar area of Delhi.

Meanwhile, the Indian government’s evacuation mission from the Taliban-controlled country remains ongoing as world leaders of the G7 nations hold an emergency meeting on August 24 to coordinate international response to the crisis in Afghanistan.
