A look at previous campaign stars following the news that Priyanka Chopra Jonas is Max Factor's latest signing. Max Factor has been a leader in the make-up world since its creator, Maksymilian Faktorowicz, launched the brand in 1909. More than 100 years later, the beauty giant still dominates the market.

Originally specialising in movie make-up, Max Factor himself would apply his creations to some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Jean Harlow, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Lucille Ball, and Judy Garland, ensuring they were ready for their close up.

Prompted by his children to grow the business, national distribution was rolled out in the ‘20s.

As well as its line of trusted beauty products, Max Factor is also well known for appointing some of the world’s most beautiful women to front its adverts. The latest to join the long list of starlets is Global Indian actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Synonymous with her dark hair, flawless skin, and love of lipstick, Priyanka said of her new gig: “A brand with a rich heritage that spans more than 100 years, Max Factor is behind the most iconic and effortless beauty transformations in pop culture, and I am honoured to be collaborating as their new global ambassador.”

Priyanka follows in the footsteps of some pretty iconic names; in 1999 Madonna graced billboards in Max Factor ads, while Gwyneth Paltrow was chosen in 2014 and worked with Pat McGrath, the brand’s global creative design director, to show off four of the most influential beauty looks of the past century – from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, as popularised by leading Hollywood actresses of the time.

And in 2015, Marilyn Monroe’s eternal beauty and enduring glamour were celebrated by bosses at the make-up giant when they named the late movie great as their new global ambassador.
