ZEE5 Global docu-series on infamous bandit Veerappan climbs streaming charts

ZEE5 Global’s new docu-series ‘Koose Munisamy Veerappan’ has recorded an impressive 9.1 rating on IMDb within just two weeks of its release, the popular South Asian entertainment platform said this week.

Viewers are said to have been attracted by the six-episode deep dive into the life and escapades of the infamous Indian forest bandit Veerappan. Through an interesting blend of real-life footage and first-hand accounts from individuals who were close to him, the series vividly portrays Veerappan's enigmatic persona and his criminal legacy.

The ZEE5 Global series tracks the bandit’s life for three decades, when he haunted the dense forests of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and parts of Kerala. It follows up to his dramatic end in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF). The series captures his criminal heritage that is now a part of history and police archives.
