In recent years, more and more Indian films are being made accessible to wider audiences by releasing them in multiple languages. South Indian films are now increasingly accessible to Hindi audiences, and vice versa, giving Indian cinema the increased exposure it deserves, not just within India but also globally.
Keeping with this trend, Mrunal Thakur and Nani’s upcoming film, titled ‘Hi Papa’ in Hindi, will be releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi to worldwide audiences.

Directed by debutant Shouryuv, the film’s teaser, which released last week, has been garnering much attention from critics and movie lovers alike. The first two teasers of the film introduce the audiences to the three main characters of the story played by Nani, Thakur and Khanna. The tagline of the film ‘love will bloom early with Hi Papa’, hints at a warm story of friendship and love when a single dad (Nani) meets Yashna (Thakur), whom his daughter Mahi (Khanna) refers to as ‘my friend’ in an earlier teaser.
The breezy vibe of the story is accentuated by its aesthetic cinematography and an easy listening background score. Two songs from the film have already been released on YouTube, namely ‘Sheeshe ki Gudiya’ and ‘Saaya Tera’. The former focuses on the father-daughter bond and explores their story, whereas the latter is focused on the love story between the two leads of the film. Music director Hesham Abdul Wahab, who has also sung one of the two songs, has done a great job keeping the music and the background score in line with the overall vibe of the teasers.

Interestingly, the film will also mark pan-Indian star Nani’s 30th film, thus making it a special film for Nani fans worldwide. Slated for release on December 7, the film has generated quite some buzz already, with fans expecting a full-length trailer to be dropped soon. It is definitely a film to look out for in the coming months.
