There is mounting excitement around one of the most anticipated Bollywood thrillers, ‘Drishyam 2’, a sequel to the hugely successful first instalment with Ajay Devgn and Tabu which will open in cinemas around the world this week.
Giving a taste of intense suspense, the initial trailer launch created quite a stir among fans of the film, if the box office advance bookings are anything to go by. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also stars Ishita Dutta, Akshaye Khanna, Rajat Kapoor, and Shriya Saran in the lead roles and will hit cinemas on November 18.
The main cast members will reprise their respective characters, while Akshaye Khanna will make an entry as a sharp cop on the trail of murder suspects. The intense title track has been composed by Rockstar DSP, the narration is by Ajay Devgn, and sung by Usha Uthup and Vijay Prakash, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The Hindi version, headlined by Devgn, was a remake of 2013's Malayalam movie of the same name, starring Mohanlal as the lead. Devgn is all set to reprise one of his most intriguing characters on-screen and continue in Vijay's shoes in the sequel. And it seems, just like the first part, the sequel too will live up to audience expectations.
His character of Vijay in the hit 2015 film 'Drishyam' made everyone believe that their family went on a holiday, which was a perfect plan to save his family from a murder conviction. The story unveils a journey that leaves the audience thinking about what might be his way out this time. The sequel starts when the police are still investigating Vijay Salgaonkar (Devgn) and his family and with the investigation led by Akshaye Khanna as the determined police investigator.
