Saravanaa Bhavan, which pitches itself as the world’s foremost Indian vegetarian restaurant chain, recently celebrated the grand opening of its 101st international branch and fifth in the UK capital. Nestled in the heart of Kenton Park Parade, north-west London, the 160-seater restaurant promises to bring a vibrant new pulse to the area, boasting a cutting-edge kitchen, plush and spacious interior, and stylish cocktail and fresh juice bar.

According to an official statement, with over half a million pounds invested into the venue, the new branch takes forward Saravanaa Bhavan’s vision of serving authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine around the world. The inauguration was attended by P.R. Shivakumaar, Chairman & MD of Saravanaa Bhavan, setting the tone for what promises to be a flourishing new foodie venture. At the helm of Saravanaa Bhavan’s UK operations is Vicky and Reka as the official franchise partners. For over two decades, the entrepreneurial power couple has been the driving force behind the brand’s growth across the UK.

From concept to completion, Vicky and Reka meticulously oversaw every aspect of the Kenton branch’s development. Their hands-on approach, coupled with an unshakeable vision, turned a year-long construction project into a culinary hub alongside thriving outlets in Rayners Lane (Harrow), Southall, Ilford, and East Ham, the management said in a statement.

Saravanaa Bhavan is now serving over 150,000 customers monthly across the UK, with the duo’s sights set on doubling that number to make Saravanaa Bhavan the preeminent name in Indian vegetarian cuisine in Britain.

The grand opening of Saravanaa Bhavan Kenton last week was a glitzy affair, attended by local dignitaries, community leaders, business networks, and loyal supporters. Councillors Chetna Halai, Suresh Krishna, and Sasikala Suresh were among the notable guests who joined in the celebrations. The event featured vibrant performances, including traditional Bharatanatyam dances, rhythmic tabla by Himmet Percussion, and a soul-stirring performance by Kenton’s own Sonna Rele, the singer behind Disney’s Cinderella theme song Strong.

Following the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, ribbon-cutting, and speeches, the restaurant opened its doors to be quickly filled to capacity. Guests were treated to freshly prepared dishes showcasing Saravanaa Bhavan’s famed menu, which includes signature delicacies such as masala dosa, parotta, biryani and, of course, filter coffee.
