Vatayan UK plans Indo-European Hindi Festival in London

iGlobal Desk

Organised by Vatayan-UK, the Indo-European Hindi Festival in London from 13-15 October 2023 will focus on the multi-dimensional activities related to Hindi in Europe and building convergences with India.

The festival is held in collaboration with the Oxford Business College, UK Hindi Samiti, Vaishvik Hindi Parivar and Indraprastha College for Women (University of Delhi), along with the support of many national and international organisations.

In the recent past, Hindi has been recognised as an international language world over. We need to felicitate the ever-growing promotion and propagation of Hindi, its literature, teaching (common core Curriculum) and translation at the European level. The problems faced by other countries are different from that of European speakers, learners and authors in Hindi. The Eurocentric focus on this Conference will celebrate the bridges built by academicians, authors and volunteers dedicated to teaching and research in Indology and Indian languages in Europe; bring them together to brainstorm, design courses and research new perspectives that will give fresh impetus and insight to Hindi language teaching.

Discussions and deliberations will look at the possibilities of developing a minimum common Curriculum for European Universities engaged in teaching Hindi. Another highlight will be the discussion on pedagogies and use of technology particularly the assistance of Artificial Intelligence in language teaching. We wish to provide a platform to encourage translations from Indian languages to European languages and vice-versa. Films, Cinema and other forms of Art have always carried the cultural legacy while propagating language; we will also include a session for discussions on Language and Art. We will take this opportunity to take a look at the Diaspora writings, that has left a distinct mark in the literary world.
