Harrow Mayor Councillor Salim Chowdhury, Mayoress Jesmin Chowdhury, Deputy Mayor Harrow Councillor Anjana Patel and Warrant Officer Ashok Kumar MBE were some of the special guests at the event, during which a unique show with performances depicting a kaleidoscope of South Asian cultures formed the centrepiece. These included folk dance from South India by Sushmita Sivan, fusion Bharatanatyam by Nishka Badri and Anisha Badri, Nepali folk dance by Manju Shah and three forms of traditional Sri Lankan dance by little kids.

The ‘Let Us Stand Together’ fashion show, choreographed by Priyanka, set the mood for the overall “Unity in Diversity” theme, with Meghana Shah performing the melodious Rangilo Maro Dholna. Among some of the other cultural highlights included Swapna Mukherjee of Teen Taal Kathak Institute mesmerising the gathering with her grace and BollyMoves coming in for a grand finale of the community cohesion initiative. The event was also an opportunity for several small-scale women entrepreneurs to showcase their wares.
