Bhavik Haria, the talented London-based singer on a mission to “keep bhajans alive”, kicked off a set of worldwide concerts with a mesmerising show in north London over the weekend.

‘Yaadein: A Musical Celebration of Life’ drew an enthusiastic audience of over 600 music enthusiasts, swaying and humming along with Haria’s soulful melodies. The concert featured a selection of spectacular bhajans – or Hindu devotional songs – from Haria's recent albums. Some of the songs were also interwoven with popular Bollywood hits, creating an engaging and nostalgic atmosphere. Audience members were fully immersed in the uplifting and intimate experience, enhanced by vibrant decorations that resulted in a memorable evening celebrating the power of music to unite and inspire.

Haria said: “The word bhajan comes from Sanskirt, meaning to worship or share. The words have a repetitive quality for listeners to join in.

“For me, bhajan is my go-to for all types of moods – whether it’s celebration, remembrance or simply to reflect.”

From London, Haria is set to travel with his bhajans for a series of concerts in Kenya from later this week and will be back in the UK for a concert at Milton Keynes in early December.

It follows the launch of his defining new album Sama – Songs of Virtue at London’s Nehru Centre in June, following which he has been touring extensively to packed venues.

He told iGlobal: “It has also been a personal quest to instill the timeless tradition of bhajans with a new perspective that resonates with today's generation and is part of my mission to #KeepBhajansAliveSama is music that explores unique compositions."

The album explores gratitude, compassion, and the liberating power of forgiveness, important reflections in today’s troubled world. Sama is a UK-India production, where the sound includes celebrated musicians from the UK and India.
